Michael Hopcraft – Unit Leader

Nickname: Mike

Scouting History: Beavers, Cubs, Land Scouts, Venture Scouts, Leader since 1997

Bio: Mike set-up Gordo ESU in 2005, and has spent the time since recruiting as many leaders a he can to minimise the amount of work he has to do.

Mark Kemp-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Sparky

Scouting History: Cubs, Land Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Leader since 2010

Bio: Sparky is incredibly competitive, and known as the original try-hard. He now puts this determined attitude towards planning camps for us.

Simon Marris-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Marris

Scouting History: Beavers, Cubs, Land Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Leader since 2010

Bio: Marris is a founder of Gordo ESU, being one of the first scouts to join, and a big reason why so many activities are not allowed on the programme anymore.

Will Mason-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Graham

Bio: Will is an accountant by day, musician by night, and our treasurer in the time between.

Matthew Womack-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Slack

Scouting History: Beavers, Cubs, Land Scouts, Venture Scouts, Leader since 2005

Bio: Slack is a founding leader of Gordo. A good person to have on your volleyball team…assuming you’re scared of the ball.

Matthew Bodinham-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Bonzi

Scouting History: Land Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network, Leader since 2015

Bio: Bonzi has been a member of Gordo since 2007, and in that time has embarrassed himself a lot.  He is now back as a leader to embarrass himself at the enjoyment of our current scouts.

Daniel Jones-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: DJ

Scouting History: Beavers, Cubs, Sea Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network, Leader since 2013

Bio: DJ assists Gordo by using his degree in accounting and finance to help out carving the turkey for our Christmas meal.  Having graduated this summer, we hope to see him more often on a Monday.

Beccy Coates-  Assistant Unit Leader

Nickname: Beccy

Scouting History: Beavers, Guides, Explorer Scouts, Leader since 2010

Bio: Beccy represents our Welsh constituency of Gordo, and attends our Christmas meal and summer camps. She always brings creative ideas for desserts of various edibility
